Bloody cars! The bottom dropped out of the Espace on Saturday morning, which was nice. On the plus side we weren't too far from home, although far enough away to be covered by the AA's recovery policy! I had to recover chunks of metal from the middle of the road - which doesn't fill you with confidence about how easy / cheap it's going to be to fix! Current thinking is that it's not terminal, but we'll make a final decision on that once we know how much it's going to cost! Click here for a bunch of pics!

Messy comms racks!

For those of you who don't know, I'm an IT guy, and while my server room at work isn't quite in this league it isn't far off. We're doing something about it soon - I'll give you before and after images when we've done it!

Sam - walker Sam - table

More Sam pictures... I just can't help myself! How cute can he get?

Well, check it out. Here's a new look for the website! It's going to fall into line with this look over the next few days, so if any of the links don't work yet then bear with me while I fix them all up. I'm going to put more images inline on this page too (demonstration below!), to save you from having new windows / tabs popping up all the time. I'm nice like that!

Superb Win32 error message, as provided by Big Jonny P. Made me laaaaaugh!

Non Sam related link! Paddy introduced us to this sauce, and we love it! Thanks, Pads! Oooh... did I mention that Pads is going to be a dad too, in early August? Daddy Paddy! Congratulations, mate.

This is turning into the Sam-blog... here's a pic of him looking older that his five and a half weeks! Chilling on the sofa... Here's another one, taking after his dad and playing with some boxing gloves.

Doesn't time fly when you're having fun! Sam's five and a bit months old now, and is a happy chappy. He - indeed we - all had a cracking time on his first Christmas. Happy New Year, everyone!

More garbage polluting the interweb: www.jonpearson.co.uk

Another ace picture of Sam!

Karate success! More on the karate page, but here's a picture of the three trophies that Jack, George and I won!

Cool diving thing - Sarah got me a dive at the Blue Planet Aquarium, at Ellesmere Port. The cool thing about this particular aquarium is that you get to dive with Sand Tiger sharks, stingrays, Nurse sharks, and more... including a Tasselled Wobbegong. It was brilliant, a great experience, and I had to try really hard to concentrate and observe the magnificence ofthe creatures instead of doing what my brain wanted me to do and just go "SSSHHHHAARKS!!!"

New Sam pictures! Just over four weeks old now, still doing brilliantly! Click here, and here.

Samuel John Minshaw

Born on 21st July 2006 at 23:17, weighing 5lb 10oz at Leicester Royal Infirmary. Mother and baby doing brilliantly! We're over the moon obviously, here's me and Sam, me and Sam again, Sam in his new clothes, and one more of Sam.

We'd all like to say a massive thank you to all the delivery staff at the LRI, especially Maureen, Victoria, Natalie, Sally, Charlotte and Dr. Ang. Thanks, guys!

More pictures - grandparents on my side, me, my mum and Sam, and Sarah, mum and Sam. Here are the other grandparents: Grandad and Granny.

More pictures!: a couple of nice ones now; the lads, and our family.

When Sam met Pads and Lou, Jacqui and Aldo, Big Jon.

Sam, 11 days old now - in his funky new top.'Twas a present from Fally and Gav. Thanks to everyone who's brought us presents and clothes for Sam, I don't think we'll have to buy him any until he's about six!

This is THE cutest picture of Sam so far!

Some non-Sam related news on the new karate page.

Time to get a bit risque: here's a picture of Helena's beaver that I took at her party the other night! Also, here's a picture of Sarah's naked body. Okay, it's a body cast we took of her pregnant tummy - but we think it rocks!

Bit of a result - the government have ditched the Legislatory Reform Bill! Announcement was snuck out on the same day as the local elections, according to this piece.

This skateboarding game rocks!

Just in case you wanted to know this, on the 4th of next month, at two minutes and three seconds after 1:00 in the morning, the time and date will be: 01:02:03 04/05/06. How cool is that? Thanks to Fally for letting me know about that.

I went Zorbing!

Cool link about firefly squid I picked up in Bruce Schneier's weblog.

I don't think I ever posted this link: Buffy's Swearing Keyboard. Er... there's lots of rudeness!

Another bit of goodness I think I've been remiss in not posting: Magical Trevor. Not to mention Magical Trevor 2 and Magical Trevor 3!

Politics time - there's a new image in the right hand bar: SaveParliament.org.uk. It's all about the Legislative and Regulatory Reform Bill which is currently wending its way through the Commons. Read the information available there, read the Bill if you like, and then write to your MP about it. I have.

Doesn't time fly! We've had our 21 week scan now and all's well - the picture is here if anyone wants to have a look. Still looking forward to a busy Summer!

Further to the news below, click here to see the first scan photo of mini-Minshaw in all his or her glory!

Exciting times! I'm going to be a father! Sarah and I are proud to announce that sometime around July 23rd 2006 we'll be joined in the world by a little brother or sister for Jack and George.

Boring bit - list of bands we saw in 2005

Music time: do your ears a favour and check out Radar. They've got a new EP out called "The Town That Taste Forgot". Keep an eye out for them live - they're good!

This is way funky. Rollable display! Imagine the home applications... pull down televisions of crystal clear resolution and so on...

Long time no update! Found this article on Supernovae not being collapsing stars this morning - it's interesting, if a little mindblowing! I suspect it might not be strictly true, it flies in the face of all accepted theory; interesting though.

This is interesting - the new Harry Potter book has been printed on forest friendly paper. It's a massive print run, and this kind of initiative really makes a big difference. Read all about it here.

The original, and still the coolest. This is laugh outloud funny, and soooo true. It's the Evil Overlord List.

More mathematical coolness: find out what's special about your number

It's back! Comedy Queen-style tribute to "All Your Base". If you have no idea what this is, then you might want to look here and find out what you've been missing!

ALERT - if you like cute bunnies alive (okay, cartoon bunnies, anyway) then don't look at this! If, however, you want to see very funny cartoons of cute cartoon bunnies killing themselves in HIGHLY imaginative ways, then click here

Geeky hat on today. This is totally cool: a UNIX-a-like written entirely in javascript. Not sure why, but it's cool. It's here.

This story on SecurityFocus about government data retention, use and potential for abuse makes for interesting reading. They're talking about the US, but how long before we follow suit?

Any "Hitchikers guide... " devotees out there? Here's some related madness

Another amusing link - taking a swipe at internet marketing and branding: Enormicon. Slide 9 particularly made me chuckle!

Waste hours with this: google image based game. My best score so far is 283!

Factoid: "ExxonMobil has given $12,071,973 since 1998 to climate sceptic think-tanks working to undermine the case for action on climate change." That's ESSO over here, guys. Who's funding this? Their customers. These are the same guys who spilt oil all over Alaska. Hmmm... I don't buy from them - perhaps you might not too?

Okay, got round to putting up the holiday pictures, feel free to peruse!

Just a quick online note of tantrum material, might be embarrassing when they get a little older!

Cool link time again: Wordcount. The most common 86800 words in the english language, in order of frequency of use. Good fun, and interesting!

Party pictures from Helena and Paul's party on Saturday night.

Some new pictures added, although they might not be of too much interest to anyone in the wider world!

Blimey! Andrew Mercer jailed!. I was at school with him - I'd be lying if I said this came as a complete surprise, still, a bit of a shame though. I wonder who the character witnesses were?

Todays cool thing: How to destroy the Earth. It's actually harder than you may have been led to believe!

This is cool... found it in the Howies catalogue.

More cool stuff - Karmabanque. Greenpeace call it "a stock exchange of sorts, but with a brilliant and maniacal twist...". Basically, you boycott corporations who do bad things and by doing so raise money (hopefully) for supporting those affected by them. Clever.

In the process of updating various bits and bobs on the site at the moment.

The latest thing to look at is this page about our trip to the Lakes and Dales

This front page is coming along - click on the white band in the top right of this frame and go join the campaign to make poverty history. It'll open up in a new browser window.
